Note before you read. I use strong language in this trio of Life Pivoting Principles. I’m sharing them as is. These are the words I tell myself. And often I need things to be very clear. Here’s how I talk to myself about these three principles.
- Stop Dreaming. Start Dying.
- Stop Learning. Start Dying.
- Stop Serving. Start Dying.
As you hike through life (I can’t resist mountains metaphors), how far do you want to go? How much do you want to enjoy the journey? How long do you want to live?
Recently, Bonnie and I visited the Grand Canyon. We hiked down and up the famous Bright Angel trail. We’re used to going up and then down in the trails around Vancouver. In the Grand Canyon, you hike down and then back up. It’s a different experience as the tougher part of the hike comes after the easy part.
